Hello!

Hello, I'm Laura, the creative human behind FloraGrafik. Nice to meet you!

I've grown up in a family that love spending time outdoors. Time spent in nature, ‘helping’ dad digging in the garden as a child, building dens with my brother, going for country walks with the dog.

My mum taught me the names of birds and wildflowers, and I used to love painting beside her in the kitchen, often copying botanical illustrations, pressing flowers and filling sketchbooks with the leaves, flowers and little treasures we found on our walks. Those early memories sparked a lifelong love of nature and illustration that still inspires every design I create today.

Time for a change

After working a corporate job and then running my own business as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator for more than ten years, I decided to combine my passion for drawing nature with my love of thoughtful gift-giving. I explored lots of different crafts and mediums, which is when I eventually discovered laser engraving and began transforming my illustrations into colourful, wooden, hand-painted keepsakes.

Since moving in this new direction, I finally feel that I’m on the right track, I’ve found my calling! I get so much joy from coming up with new illustrations, designs, colour combinations and witty one-liners. And the sense of achievement at holding a gift you made yourself... it’s quite something.

My friends and family have been receiving colourful bespoke and personalised keepsakes from me for a while now, it’s about time I shared them with you.

What I think about gifts

I believe the best gifts don't have to be extravagant; they simply need to make someone feel seen, loved or to make them smile. That's why my work celebrates what I love most: the beauty of nature, joyful colour and human connection. My illustrations tell one part of the story, while the words tell the other.

Some designs feature cheeky puns to brighten someone's day, others carry heartfelt messages, and many can be personalised on the reverse side (with messages penned by either me or you) to create a truly unique keepsake.

Sustainable and timeless

Choosing sustainably sourced wood and other natural materials feels like the perfect way to honour the landscapes and plants that have inspired me for so many years. I wanted to create gifts that feel timeless and are made to be treasured for years to come. And gifts that bring as much joy to those receiving them as they do to me as I make them.

Every art gift starts as one of my original illustrations before being carefully laser engraved, hand-finished and painted in vibrant colours. My hope is that every piece finds a home where it brings a smile, marks a special moment or simply reminds someone that they are thought of with love.
